In Falmouth and the surrounding area you will find some of the finest beaches in the country and we can also boast the world's third largest natural harbour which attracts a vast variety of craft from the smallest dinghies to the largest sailing boats as well as commercial tankers, cross-channel ferries etc. which use the ship repair yard.
The town offers a wide variety of activities linked to the sea including sailing, swimming, and diving and local clubs offer lessons for both the novice and the expert. There are also fishing trips and many pleasure boats and ferries ply the local waters to St.Mawes, Flushing, Truro and the Helford Passage. The National Maritime Museum Cornwall features collections from the National Maritime Museum and the existing Cornwall Maritime Museum and include an events square and marina. There is an excellent coastal golf course and there are several areas within easy reach which you can explore by bike including the Mineral Tramways Project and the Camel Trail and if you prefer walking then part of the famous South West Coast Path can be found here.
